The Indian Health Service National Laborers’ Union, Local 5251 and LIUNA Local 16, which represents members working in the construction industry in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area, proudly participated in the AFL-CIO “It’s Better In a Union” Bus Tour stop at the Labor Union Fair on August 5, 2025, in Window Rock, Arizona.

Both locals are part of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) and joined fellow unions from across Arizona and New Mexico for this historic gathering. The event, organized by the Nal-NiSHii Federation of Labor, marked the first labor union fair of its kind for the Navajo community.

This event brought together unions, local workers, and community members to share information about the benefits of union membership. The participation of LIUNA Local 5251 and Local 16 underscores our shared commitment to solidarity, worker empowerment, and supporting Indigenous communities.
